Bike Box Rental hire out premium bike boxes for people looking to protect their bicycles when travelling abroad.
Brief
As a relatively new service, Bike Box Rental came to Cody with little online presence but a great business model – a simple, easy, quick and cost effective hiring service . They were primarily looking to refresh and update Bike Box Rental’s brand identity to reflect this offering along with the design and build of a new website.
A subsequent strategy session also revealed the opportunity to leverage their new digital presence to create a seamless online booking process for their customers. Additionally, I spoke to them about their challenges in getting customers to find them through Google Search and how we could help them improve their visibility.
SOLUTION
In a growing but crowded market, Bike Box Rental needed to stand out from the competition and engage with its target audience of cyclists and triathletes who travelled abroad with their bicycle for racing & training. This audience is part of the always on culture and are constantly in search of better deals for an already expensive sport. They also listen to the opinions and recommendations of their sporting peers.

I worked with Bike Box to better communicate their offering through their brand identity, key messaging and copy. From reflecting the founders sense of fun through a commissioned cartoon illustration (used as a distinctive and engaging banner for their main social media channels), to communicating their clear proposition across every touchpoint, Cody ensured Bike Box had a brand that was authentic to them and that could grow alongside their business.

ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM AND WEBSITE
Everything from the design to technology solution and the customer journey on the website had to be simple but effective. We achieved this through several iterations. We integrated a state-of-the art booking system and promo code functionality for Bike Box’s promotional campaigns. We also used imagery and storytelling techniques to give the customer a clear and immediate understanding of the product and service.
