James Beckinsale is a leading Triathlon Coach (head coach of Optima racing Team) and author of The Triathlon Training book.

Brief

James came to me because he wanted to make his world renown expertise accessible online to the global triathlon community. He knew he could do this by publishing training plans but felt there was a need for a more integrated and accessible coaching solution for athletes.

SOLUTION

I helped him achieve this by building a virtual triathlon coaching platform that combined training plans, how to video content and universal expertise on the sport of triathlon.

Insight

Triathletes are quickly becoming a more global and digitally connected audience, hungry to access the best information in order to improve their performance. They want to learn how to develop their swim, bike, run techniques and follow training plans to achieve their goals.

It became very clear that there is a growing demand for an ‘online virtual triathlon coaching’ resource by triathletes that do not currently have the time, money or access to world class triathlon coaching.

Using an agile development approach I managed the build and design of the online ‘virtual triathlon coaching’ platform that would make James Beckinsale’s triathlon coaching accessible to triathletes anywhere, at any time and on any device. Through a number of iterations, we learnt from groups of test users in order to create the ideal customer journey before launching the first version of the platform to market.
